Millicent’s Celebrates Seven Year Anniversary

It’s hard to believe that we have been in business for seven years now.  Every year just gets better.  We have you, our customers and many friends who frequent our shop, to thank for our success.  And how will we thank you?  With a SALE, of course!

Needle Felting Workshop- Sunday, Nov. 16

What is needle-felting?  It is a simple method of using unspun wool and barbed needles to sculpt three-dimensional figurines.  It gives you a chance to be creative and to make whimsical or naturalistic object d’art!  Think elves, Santa, ornaments, even jewelry; and it’s not any harder than sculpting with clay.  If you have not yet experienced the joys of needle felting, you should try to attend this workshop.  Once again, you will be embraced warmly by Maureen Pritchard (the Barefoot Spinner) at her farm studio just outside of Romney. The consummate needle-felter in our area, Dana Alt, will be teaching with Maureen.  You will need to purchase a needle-felting kit from Millicent’s, and you will be supplied with dyed wool roving. Bring a sandwich and Maureen will supply you with snacks and drinks and a can-do attitude that will have you smiling the whole time you are with her.  The workshop begins at 10 and continues through to 4 in the afternoon. 

Fee: $50 plus needle-felting kit   All dyed roving will be supplied.

 

Thinking about the Holidays?

Look for titles like One Skein Wonders, or Last-Minute Knitted Gifts, or Knitting Little Luxuries, or Exquisite Little Knits.  Felting is another quick and easy way to make gifts as you are working on large needles. We have many felting patterns and books, especially our ever popular Pursenalities books. New this season Alterknits Felts has some really cute tree ornaments and even a felted Advent’s calendar!   These will all help you make your gifts quickly.

 

And what will Santa bring YOU?  Tell him direct!

Did you know that we have a Wish List system here at Millicent’s?  We scan anything you wish to put on your automated wish list, and it sits on your very own customer page!  (Think books, yarns for a special project, spinning wheels, an entire set of needles in all sizes).  Then, when someone you love comes in to buy a gift for you, we will have your ideas at hand.  So please do come into the shop to create your wish list for the 2008 Holidays!

 

XMAS Table for more gift ideas!

You will find our annual gift table from December 2 on.  You’ll find lots of gift ideas here for your knitting friends, for children, and other crafters.  We also have surprises!

 

Gift Certificate Availability

We have gift certificates at any denomination level.  Some customers have already told us that they are telling their families, “Don’t bother with the other stuff—just give me a gift certificate to Millicent’s!”  Also, many out-of-state relatives order gift certificates for their beloved knitters.  It’s all as easy as a telephone call with a credit card in hand.
