KNITTING CLASSES FOR DECEMBER

We are offering three short courses (2 weeks only – only $20 fee – 20% off materials) that will give you some stunning last minute gifts!  These quick classes are great classes for Beginners.  I’m sorry to be late in announcing these, but was home sick last week  L  Hope many of you will be able to attend nonetheless!  You can see our models for each class item at the shop --- you’ll love them!

DECEMBER SUNDAY SOCIAL

Sunday, December 13, 1:00 – 4:00

Our Sunday Social pattern for December is Tudora, found at knitty.com (issue Winter ’07).  If you are able to print it out from home, it would be a help for us.  It asks for an Aran weight yarn and a US size 6 needle. We carry the Debbie Bliss Aran Tweed recommended for this project, and many other Aran weight yarns besides.  Your finished project will need a button.  Remember that you will receive a free pattern and free instruction, as well as a second pattern to use with this new skill, and you will be eligible for a door prize.  Bring a small snack to share if you feel so moved and join in the fun.

BLOCK OF THE MONTH CLUB: ARAN AFGHAN

Many, including myself, are all falling behind on our Aran afghan squares – can we blame this on holiday knitting?  I hope so!  Anyhow, we now have only one person coming to our classes  : (

 Our last squares are:

Jay Campbell, pp. 18 - 19

Dana Hurt, pp. 20 – 21

Dagmara Berztiss, pp. 48 - 49

Kathleen T. Carty, pp. 10 – 11

Susan Rainey, pp. 50 - 51

That should give you 12 squares. Please complete the squares during the months of November, December and January and then assemble your squares using the mattress stitch.  During our February meeting we will be working on the cable edging.  Be ready!!!

Please feel free to come in for assistance as needed.

Just for fun . . .

*that Mel found her first white hair at the age of 10, had a streak of white by high school, was mostly all white by 30, but never dyed her hair – too cheap!
